Angel’s Trumpet, also known as brugmansia, is a heat-loving tropical annual shrub or small tree native to South America that produces large, trumpet-shaped flowers. The flowers come in white, pink, orange or yellow and hang down from their branches. Not only are the flowers attractive, they also have a pleasant fragrance! The scent is strongest at night. These plants can reach a height of 3-11m (10-36ft tall). The leaves are large and are often covered in fine hairs. The flowers measure 6-20 inches long and 4-14 inches across, when fully opened. The flowers can be single or double bloom. Angel’s Trumpet would be a heavenly specimen plant to any garden, adding colour, beauty and fragrance. As well, the hanging nature of the plant makes it ideal for container gardening. As these are tender tropical plants, it does best in moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Do not plant until the ground is free from frost. In warmer climates, the plant can flower all year-round. Prune to encourage new branches, and thus more blooms. Climate Zones: 9-11
