Differences between Anglicanism and Roman Catholicism
Many people often confuse between Roman Catholicism and Anglicanism. Christianity has many different denominations. Both Roman Catholicism and Anglicanism are not different religions, but rather different denominations of Christianity. As a result, there are many distinctive differences that set them apart from each other. These differences are the head of each denomination, the conditions of being a priest, and justification by faith.

The first distinctive differences between Roman Catholicism and Anglicanism is the head of each denomination. Roman Catholic Church has a centralized authority system based in a world's smallest independent state Vatican City which is inside Italy's capital, Rome. The head of Roman Catholicism is the Pope, and he has authority over all Roman Catholic Church thoroughout the world. As for the Anglican Church, no one person holds an absolute authority over the Anglican Churches in the world. They do however have are unified under the Anglican Communion, but even still, each national or provincial church remains autonomous. The Archbishop of Canterbury is the leader of the Anglican Communion, but his role is to provide a focus for unity, rather than holding an absolute authority over the churches and ruling them.

In addition to the head of each denomination being different, the rules that are applied to the priests are different as well. Roman Catholic priests have a strict rule as far as marriage goes. All Roman Catholic priests are required to stay celibate. However the Anglican Church priests are free from the restriction and are allowed to marry someone. The Roman Catholic Church does not allow women to hold the title of a priest, while many parts of Anglican Communion allows women to become priests.
